Exam Assessment
The assessment is in a final oral exam, related to the project-based part of the course. See more in the following.
The project-based part is made of:
(1) intermediate challenges, equal for all students (these are the
challenges of the course slides);
(2) a conclusive challenge, one per group of students, in case of
attending students; a conclusive challenge, to be agreed with
teachers before the exam, otherwise.
The final oral exam comes with questions
concerning the project-based part. Examples (these are only examples):
how can you use the senseHat matrix to display information? Can
you use your RPi as a server and, if yes, how did you do it in
challenge n. X.
For those regularly attending the course, the
quality of their participation and the resolution of at least 60%
of the project based part during the course will count towards the
final oral exam.
For those not regularly attending the course,
they are expected to work independently on the entire project
based part, which will be tested in the final oral exam.
Formative feedback and assessment on challenges are delivered in person, during the course hours (e.g., not via mail). Being a making course, regular attendance is highly recommended so as to exploit this type of in-person interactions besides the course material, which is made available for free to students, during course hours only.
