I am an associate professor and head of the Computational Mathematics group at the Faculty of Computer Science of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. I work in algorithmic and architectural problems in the field of computational mathematics, scientific computing and high-performance computing. Specific areas which interest me include numerical linear algebra methods, such as preconditioning and multilevel iterative techniques for solving large-scale linear systems arising from the discretisation of partial differential and integral equation models, and those of particle-based simulations, such as the fast multipole method for electromagnetic and acoustic scattering.
- At the Faculty of Computer Science, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano: coordinator of the "Information and Database Systems Engineering" group and of the activities on curriculum development for the Mathemactics area.
