Level 3 - Bartolli's Hideout
Take the boat forward. The gate will lift when you get close to it. Go to the first deck and jump out of the boat. Kill the two rats. Facing the two large doors, turn left and go up the stairs. When you reach the top turn right and kill two more rats. Enter the hallway and kill the big bad dude that comes after you. Pick up the medi-kit that he leaves behind. Go forward and climb up onto the ledge. Shoot two more rats (annoying little things, aren't they). Pull the lever at the end of the hall. This opens the two big doors down by the boat. Draw your weapons and get ready to shoot another bad guy. Just wait in hall for him. As soon as you see him, start shooting. Then pick up the small medi-kit that he leaves behind. Now, go out of the hall and back down the stairs and to the big doors.
Get ready for some shooting. Refering to the picture to the left, shoot the enemy on the balcony above you and as you go into the room go to the right and shoot the next enemy. Now go to your left. You should see 2 windows. Shoot out the windows and get ready because two dogs come out of this room. Shoot them. Go into the room and turn to your right. Down at the very end of the room is a health pack, some ammo, and
some flares. Cool. Now go back out of this room through the windows that you shot out. Now go to your left. There is a dark hallway with sword-welding statues. As you approach them (go slowly) they will start chopping with their swords. Time it carefully and go past each one. You need to light a flare when you get to the last one. Now go into this new room. On the wall to your left is a lever. Pull it. This opens a door outside that you'll get to in a minute. Now go back down the hallway (the statues won't move now) and get ready to climb.
Go to where the picture shows in the main room. Face away from teh sloped block and do a back jump onto it. As soon as you hit it, do a forward jump and grab onto the ledge in front of you. Pull yourself up. Whew! Now go turn around go to the big block behind you. It looks like part of the wall but you can push it. Once you find it then push it twice forward. Now turn to your left and do a running jump over to the balcony.
See the ladder looking part of the wall? (refer to the picture) That stuff is climbable. Climb up onto the wall and climb to your right. Keep going until you are able to drop down on to a new ledge. Go outside onto this new balcony. To your deep left is an awning. Walk to the edge of the balcony and jump over and grab onto the awning. Now shimmy to your left. When you reach the end of the
awning, climb up onto it and immediately do a back jump. Lara will land on yet another balcony behind her. Now turn to your left and you will see a wooden ledge sticking out from the building. Walk to the edge of the balcony that you are on, take a step back and do a running jump and grab onto the wooden ledge. Pull yourself up onto it. Now you will see another awning across from you. Jump over onto it. Lara can stand on this one. Hang off the edge of the far end of the awning and drop down onto the ledge below. Across the water from you will be the doors that you opened earlier. Jump across into the doorway and draw your weapons. Shoot the two dogs that come after you. Now go up the stairs and turn left and keep going up the stairs. At the top of the stairs turn to your right and go into the doorway that you see. Draw your weapons and shoot the guy that comes after you.
Once you've dispatched with him, go to the wall inside the room that is to the right (from inside the room) of the doorway. You should see a lever on the wall. Pull it. Now go back into the room with the stairs and turn to your right. Once again shoot the guy that shows up and take what he leaves behind. Go down the hall and out onto a balcony. To your left will be Secret #1 sitting on the ground.
Go back into the building and turn left and go into the room with the lever you just pulled. Go across the room to the window. Shoot out the window and go out on to balcony. Shoot the enemy to your right. Now walk to your right to the next window. Shoot it out and go into this new room. Get ready. Two bad dudes and two dogs will attack. Once you'ved dispatched with them, push the back of the fireplace to continue on your way.
After you have pushed the block as far as it will go, then climb up onto it. Now climb up to your left and shoot the rat that will be to your right. There is a blade at the end of the hall which is at the top of a slope. Jump over it and slide down the slope and jump over the blade at the bottom. At the bottom of the slope, turn to your right and you'll see a hallway with 4 flaming pipes. As you move towards the first flame, all four will turn off. Now you have just enough time to hop from place to place to get to the end of the hall before the flames turn back on. When you reach the end of the hallway turn to your right and the door in front of you will open. Start shooting. There will be one bad gun toting dude and two dogs to deal with. After you shoot them, go into the room.
Referring to the picture at the left, climb up onto the block. Walk up to the tall edge. Now jump up and grab onto the edge of the chan- dalier. Once you are on the chan- dalier, turn around. Do a running jump and grab onto the next chan- dalier. Now, once again, do another running jump and grab onto the next chandalier. Now grab onto the ledge in front of you and pull your self up onto it. Turn to your right and shoot the two rats that you see.
Now go around until you get to the rafter (like it shows in the picture). Jump up and grab onto the rafter and shimmy to the right until you can climb up onto it. Now look off the other side of the rafter where the wooden ledge sticks out farther. Do a running jump onto it and draw your weapons. As you turn to your right get ready to shoot the guy that climbs over the wall. He drops a small medipak so pick it up.
.Now climb up onto the wall and go to your right. Jump up onto the rafter and pull the lever. This re-does the arrangement of the chandliers. So jump back over to the wall from the rafter and climb off the wall to your left. Carefully climb down onto the nearest chandalier. Now jump over to the next chandalier (do a standing jump, a running jump will make you go to far). Now turn to your right and jump over to the ledge. Pull the lever that you see and then do a running jump over to the middle chandalier. Now turn to your right and jump over to the last chandalier. To your left is a new opening. Jump over and grab onto the ledge and pull yourself up into it. Get the key. Now jump back over to the chandalier. Do a running jump back to the middle chandalier. Jump over to the ledge to your right. Shoot out the window. Turn to your right and pull the lever on the wall. Now go out onto the ledge and once again go to your right. Go down into the chimney. You'll fall into the water. Swim forward and you should see a lever on the wall to your left. Pull it. Take a breath. Swim through the door that you opened by pulling the lever. Light a flare and swim down into the hole in the floor. Keep swimming until you find the lever on the wall. Pull it and swim up to get
some air. Swim back down and at the bottom you should find SECRET #2. Swim back out of that area and go back to the lever that you pulled when you first fell down the chimney. Go up the stairs that are in the water there and use the key that you got earlier on the lock beside the door. This will open up the doors that lead into a library. Go forward into the library. As you do, a thug will show up. Dispose of
him and pick up the small med pak that he leaves behind. Keep going forward through the open doorway. Veer to your left and then turn right at the first hallway. Climb up the bookshelf that will be on your left. Once you reach the top turn around and kill the two rats that are across from you. Jump across the gap and over in the area where the rats were.
Now climp up onto the shorter bookcase and pull the lever. This opens up doors back in the central area of the library. Drop back down out of this room into the hallway below that you climbed up from and head back to the central area. Draw your weapons and shoot the gun-welding baddie that starts shooting you. After you've dispatched of him go into the new area that opened up when you pulled the lever earlier. It will be to
your right as you enter the central area. Go into the new area and climb up the first bookcase to your left. When you reach the top turn around and jump across to the top of the other bookshelf. When you land, turn to your left and climb up to the top of that bookcase. Now turn around. There should be a window to your left. Shoot out the window. Now here's where you have to be careful. Step out onto the canopy. You will start sliding. When you reach the end of the canopy jump across to the ledge that is sticking out from the building in front of you. Now turn around and jump back across to the roof that you can see. Now turn to your right and jump across onto the brick walkway. Go to the right end of the walkway and jump across to the roof of the wooden building. Go to the end of the roof and turn to your left. At the front end of the roof by the chimney, jump and grab on to the brick ledge to your right. Shimmy to the left until you can climb up and then walk foward and drop down into the water. Pick up the ammo that is in the pool. Now turn around and climb up the wall back to where you dropped down. Now drop down into the water. Swim up to the closest corner of the wooden deck and climb up onto it. Go into the doorway that you see and shoot the guy inside. Pick up the ammo he leaves behind and get the key off of the table in the middle of the room. Go back outside and go back into the water. Swim over to the doorway that is in the brick walkway that you just jumped off of a second ago. Climb up onto and draw your weapons immediately. Shoot the guy that is there when the door opens and pick up the medi pack that he leaves behind. You probably need it now. Shoot the windows out to your right and go back into the library. Go back out into the central area of the library and across to the closed doors. There is a lever to the right of the doors. Pull it. This opens the doors. Draw your weapons and go into this new room. Two guys with guns will come after you. They are to your left outside through the windows. Deal with these two guys (kill them) and pick up the ammo that each one leaves behind. If you haven't already, shoot out the
windows. Go through the windows and through the door to the right. Jump into the water and swim across to a ledge that you can climb up onto. Shoot the rat that will be there. Now climb up higher onto the next brick walkway. Walk across the brick walkway past the debtonator. Climb up onto the next brick walkway and follow it to the end. Now climb up onto the next raised brick segment. Now climb up onto the sloped roof. Shoot out the window and go into the room. Pick up Secret #3 from the table.
Go back out of the room and drop down onto the brick walkway. Follow it back to the debtonator. Use the key that you have on it and everything will blow up real good. It's supposed to. Now there will suddenly be a guy up on a balcony shooting you. Shoot back and kill him. Now go back up along the brick walkway like you are going towards secret #3. At the end of the walkway jump across to the wooden platform. Climb up through the hole in the ceiling. Once in the new room go to the other side and jump across to the raised blocks. Climb up until you can climb up through the hole in this ceiling. Now turn around and jump across to the walkway. Go down this walkway and drop down into the new hall when you reach the end. Go to your left and slide down the slope. Congrats. You have finished the third level of Tomb Raider 2. Time to move on to probably the most difficult level in the entire game...The Opera House.
