Dragon's Lair

At last - at long last - the final battle is here. It's Lara versus a collection of Bartoli's worst - and ultimately Bartoli himself. Or itself. Either way, the winner gets The Dagger of Xian for keeps. The loser…. Do you have to ask?

It's Dagger Time
From the start room, slip past the frozen guard. Blast the baddies and pull the switches. Then enter the dark pillar room. Grease Bartoli's boys. One of the last guys you kill coughs up the key to the final room - and the final showdown.

Once through the double doors, enter the large room and stop. This is it. Select your Uzis, then take stock of the area. Note Bartoli's "corpse" in the center of the room. Note the square, watery holes that surround the body (you'll find submerged ammo and health). Finally, note (if you can see them) the closed doors beyond Bartoli - that's the way to the exit. The stage set, approach the body, guns drawn.

When you get close, you call forth the power of the Dragon, in the form of a big, angry, fire-breathing, gold dragon. Sideways jump and don't stop firing. If you get flamed, make for the water holes - that's what they're there for. Good luck.

When you drop the dragon, approach the body and follow the swirl of magic stars to the belly of the beast. Quickly pull out the Dagger - that's the only way to kill it for good. The only way. If you don't get the Dagger in time, the beast gets back up and the battle begins anew.

Dagger in hand, make for the exit via the doors you open by taking the Dagger. (The exit doors you noted when you first entered the area.) Run like hell and don't look back. Once you're out, you can congratulate yourself on a job well done. But as they say, it ain't over 'till the fat lady sings.
