Don't bother trying to jump to any distant ladders or outcroppings. Simply turn, drop, and grab the ladder. Climb down and drop to grab the ledge below. The mission's second secret is directly below you - but you can't just drop to the ledge below - that would be too easy. Want to know how to get it without taking a lick of damage?
After following the cracks around to the left, approach the two-part ladder (the first in the tall, thin pillar) and ascend to the top. Follow the passage to the green wall. (Alternatively, you can stop when you get to the last square and drop with it - you should land on a platform above the lava. From there it's an easy jump through the hole in the wall. Either way, the next area is completed in the same fashion.) At the bottom of the slide, jump - this places you on another slide. Jump as you near the bottom of this second slide and grab the ledge. Pull up and locate the switch in the wall. Yank it to open the temple gates. You remember the temple, don't you? Escape this area via the corridor beyond the switch and swim until you reach the beach. Temple of Xian, continued...
