Tomb Raider II Survival GuideWalk-through
IntroductionBefore You Go...Guns and Bad GuysWalk-throughCheatsContents

Tibetan Foothills

There's little argument among Tomb Raider aficionados that Lara's Tibetan adventures are guns-down the best in the game. True to form, Tibetan Foothills has it all: beguiling environments, complex puzzles, deadly traps and bottomless crevasses, loads of brutal enemies, and plenty of high-speed snowmobile action. What more could you want? Well, since you asked…as an added bonus, this mission contains two of the most difficult pairs of jumps in the game, which you aren't required to perform. Never fear, we'll show you where they are - and how to make them a part of your tomb raiding experience.

Looking and Leaping
Blast the eagle and your way to the other end of the bowl. Turn right and jump through the gap in the rocks. Leap over the first set of snow boulders, press ahead, then bravely duck into the convenient alcove on the left wall to wait out a second Tomb Raider-style avalanche.

Continue up the slope and through the tunnel. Leap through the ice wall, aiming for the right side. Ride the slide and jump right, angling for the opening in the wall. If you miss the right platform, grab for the far wall; your life depends on it. Then backflip to the slide and try again to land on the safe flat area to the right. And again. And again…

When you emerge from the tunnel and shoot down the birds, take a long, covetous stare at the distant snowmobile. That's where we're headed. Since you can't simply leap across the crevasse, you'll have to use your head instead. What would an Eastern Mystic do?

Screenshot ScreenshotThe snowmobile is so close, yet so far away. Even though you can't jump to it from here, getting to it is easier than you think.

Turn around and hop backward off the ledge, grabbing to stop the fall. Release to slide down, again the grab button down. After hanging up on the ledge, release to fall on firm ground. Make your way through the tunnel on your left, taking care to avoid loitering under the unstable stalactites. When you come to the ledge overlooking the main area of water, turn right and make your way to the next passage. When you get to the hole in the left wall, take it down. All the way down. Work your way to the far end of the ledge overlooking the main pool of water. Leap to the rock outcropping, turn left and jump to the square, flat platform and the Medi Kit. Turn right and start climbing. Draw your guns just before reaching the top - it's time to ambush a pair of Bartoli's boys. The winner gets ownership of the red snowmobile.
