Level 10 - The Deck

This is a big-un. Save as often as you can because this level full of traps and impossible manouevers.

When you start this level Lara will be facing some windows, one of these windows (the one to the left) is open and looks over a pool of water a long, long way below. Ignore this window and from where you started the level go right and get rid of some bad guys. Circumnavigate this level and get the last weapon Lara is going to use - a grenade launcher (now you know what to do with those grenades you have been accumulating throughout the game).

After you have killed the bad guys keep going straight till you are at the right most past of this level of the deck. As you look to your left (or dead ahead, depending on where you are standing) you will notice a massive dome like structure that is made of copper. Finally you have to make it to this structure. From where you stand you can see a few pillars and a wall close to the copper dome but you cannot climb either of them because they are too tall. Remember this place.

The level is not the 10th level of the game but the different accessible heights of the deck, there are three of these levels and you will be navigating through all of them.

Return to the place from where you started the level and go through the open window and dive into the pool of water below. On dropping in go left and surface in the corner to climb onto the only platform that Lara can climb. Kill the fish if you want to or let them be. From this platform start climb the walls and keep going to the right till you come to a platform with a key on it, pick it up (the key, not the platform). Dive into the water from here and go through the tunnel on your left and surface in the next area.

When you climb out of the water look to your left and you will see a really huge copper colored construction (which is the base of the copper dome whose roof you have already seen from the upper level of the deck). However a bad guy appears so get rid of him. Jump down from this platform and go right following the path between the platform to your right and the copper structure on your left, be careful of a guy with a flame-thrower. When he is dead go straight and at the end turn left and you will find some blocks stacked next to the copper structure. This is a puzzle the solution to which is simply this. Face the blocks and you will see one block stacked on top of a block. You need to push this block on top of the block to your extreme right. The final combination looks like this:

The door can be opened with the key that you already have so get about it. Go through the door and drop into the water, light a flare if its too dark. Stick close to the wall on your right and find a submerged lever, when you find it yank it and exit this area. As you come out from the door go right and climb on to the copper colored platform, go right to the trapdoor on the floor and drop through it. Follow the passage to the opposite, climb up the ladder and pull the switch you find there. This will cause the water in the room you opened with the key to be drained out. Climb down and once again go through the door next to the blocks and climb down into the area that was filled with water the last time you came here.

Keep going right till you come to a block that can be moved (easily located because it looks totally out of place). Pull this block out till you can go through the tunnel that is revealed behind it. Keep following the winding passage till you come to a water filled area, jump in and start swimming while staying close to the wall on your left. Climb out when you come close to a bad guy patrolling around. Shoot him and if possible also shoot down the scuba-divers from here. See that yellow colored boat out there? That is where you want to go but don't start swimming to it because it is not that easy. However you might want to dive anyway because the first secret is quite close by. So jump into the water and swim downwards and to your left and you will find the dragon resting among some underwater plants, grab it and swim back to the platform where you just dived.

When you climb out of the water go right. Jump, hop etc. to avoid the various obstacles (there are few) but keep on dry land till you arrive at a passage on your left, go through it. This passage is again a long and winding one with occassional bad guys making appearances. As you are running along keep an eye open to your left side and you will pass by a well lit depression in the left wall with a small passage. If you follow this passage you will arrive at some pillars and blocks that can be climbed, however don't climb them now, got to get that yellow boat first, so continue down the passage that you were originally following till you come to a room with a big medi-kit and a hole in the floor. Look down the hole and, hey, you are on top of the yellow boat. Notice the two blocks on the boat? One of them is higher than the other, you have to drop on the taller of the two. Save your game, max out your health and do a safety drop to the taller block (you must have maximum health here, so don't be stingy unless you want to load from the last saved position). Grab the key and the harpoons. When you pick up the key some sharks come hunting, kill them or simply dive in and swim back to the platform from where you dived to get the first secret.

Take the same route as before but this time go to the well lit passage on the left wall that you previously ignored. Start doing jumps, grabs, etc and keep climbing till you reach the very top. Jump across to the wide open area and you are on the top-most level of the ship's deck. Run around on this level (don't fall) and kill all the bad guys you find. When they are dead go ahead and drop down the next lower level of the deck (these jumps are rather big so try to keep over 50% health before jumping). On this level once again run around all over and kill all the bad guys you find and when you are running around notice the swimming pool.

When bad guys are dead come back to the swimming pool because it holds the second secret of the level. Kill the fish, dive in and go towards the submerged door. As you come close to the door it will automatically open and reveal a scuba-diver (yeah right scuba divers in the swimming pool :)). Kill him with the harpoon gun or climb out of the pool and gun him with another weapon then go through the door to get the second secret.

Don't climb down from this level of the deck, instead go to the right side of this level and face the copper structure. You are now on the same height as the pillars and walls that you noticed at the beginning of the level. Position Lara so that she is closest to the lower and nearest pillar then do a running jump to it. From there do a running jump grab to the next taller structure. If you do it right then after pulling up on the higher wall and looking to your right you should be able to see the third secret. Getting the secret is not a problem, just to a running jump grab on to the ledge, walk through the razor blade, pick up the dragon, put your back to the edge of the cliff, hop back and hang-on to the edge and then let go to fall to the floor. Trouble is you will have to work ALL the way back to the platform from where you saw this secret. You will be travelling back along the same route again so it would be advisable to let this dragon rest alone for the time being. So from the wall you are standing do a running jump to the copper dome. Save your game.

Run straight to the opposite edge of this structure and steer a little to the left. Be careful because the edge on that side curves downward and you cannot see where exactly it ends. Once you get close to the edge don't run but walk so that Lara does not fall (falling means death). When you reach the other end, turn around and put your back to the edge. Hop back with the action key pressed so that Lara hangs on to the edge. From here you should be able to see a crack in the wall below, if you can't see it then just shimmy left till you can, once you are above this crack, let go of the action key and press it again pronto so that Lara lets go off the roof and grabs to this crack. From here shimmy left till Lara can pull herself up. Turn left and you will see an opening in the wall dead ahead. Do a running jump grab to this opening.

Follow this passage to the end till you reach a sort of wall just outside the end of the passage, hop on to it and you will be facing the roof of a rectangular room. Jump on to the roof.

Keep the copper structure to your left and run as far as you can, at the end turn left and you will see a sort of ledge running along the copper structure and there is also a trapdoor there if you look carefully. Jump on to this area, draw your guns and fall through the trap door. When the bad guy is dead run around and you will find a moveable block. Pull/push this block out of the way to access the switch behind it (drag the box so that it is AWAY from the door next to the switch). Pull the switch to open a door then exit this room. As you exit you will see another closed door (let us call it Door B). Take a right after you exit, at the end of the corridor again take a right and run through the door that you just opened. Once inside the room use the key you have to open another door and go through it. In the upper left corner is the switch to open the second closed door you saw and the floor leading to the switch is false with spikes under it. There are several ways to flip this switch and all are easy, what I do is as follows: take a diagonal path to the switch and jump as soon as I am sure I will land on the floor next to the switch. The advantage with this is that after pulling the switch I just stick to the wall on my right and the floor is still there so Lara can just run across :) Pulling this switch will open Door B.

Once you have gone through Door B run, jump to the top and then go left till you come to a hole in the floor. Max your health (not necessary but what the hell) and do a safety drop to the top of a building and grab the key which will open the exit door for you. From here all you have to do is start hopping down from one deck level to the next till you reach the floor and if you did not grab the third secret earlier you can go for it now. After getting the secret drop to the floor.

You are now once again close to the place where you solved the block puzzle, follow the same path and be careful of guys with flame throwers. After they are dead go past the blocks and run straight for the low structure with a lock next to the door. Open the door with the key you have and enter it to get the Seraph.
